Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Capital city Raipur's Railway Station is liked by all for its clean and tidy surroundings. Recently, the station's help counter has hired differently-abled persons who are surprisingly working just as good as an abled person. They are helped by other employees in the department.
Rukmani who is visually impaired and a long-time employee in the Railways said that her co-workers have been very supportive to her which makes her feel comfortable to work there.
Raipur Railway station's senior DCM Tanmay Mukhopadhyay mentioned that Raipur Railway station's Helpdesk is 24 hours occupied with the inquiries from the passengers.
Specially-abled people work in three shifts each consisting of eight hours where they solve passengers' queries regarding the train's timing. He added that "never has anyone faced any difficulty nor have we received any complaint. This is a matter of great pride for the railway station."
The differently-abled employees have a flair for remembering details that prove to be beneficial for guiding passengers. The country is all praises for the initiative taken by Raipur Railway Station.
