Kanker (Chhattisgarh): With Covid-19 caseloads continuing to rise, scenes of despair and frustration have become common scenes at hospitals across the country. However, the commitment of frontline health workers has been key in stopping the collapse of the healthcare system entirely in the face of unnerving odds.
A photograph of a seemingly tired nurse taking a nap has gone viral on the internet.
Lilasani Kodapi, a nurse at Pankajur Civil hospital was photographed sitting on the floor—leaning back on a wall and legs stretched out. The nurse, clad in PPE kit, took a minute to relax reportedly after working for several hours at a stretch.
With 2,97,540 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, India's cumulative recoveries stand at 1,53,84,418. The national recovery rate is 81.99 percent out of which ten states account for 76.61 percent of the new recoveries.
