Dantewada (Chhattisgarh): A passenger train was derailed by Naxals between Bhansi and Bacheli in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada on Friday. About 30 passengers were on board and all are safe.
According to the information available, the Naxalites stopped the train in the middle of a forest and asked the passengers to assist the Bharat Bandh on April 26. They also put up posters in support of the Bharat Bandh on the train.

Confirming the incident, SP Dantewada said that the Naxalites had stopped the train for about 45 minutes. During this period, the Naxalites did not cause any harm to any passenger.
The District Reserve Guard jawans were immediately rushed to the derailment site as they helped in safely evacuating the passengers from the train.

Earlier, on April 04, Naxals ambushed security forces during an anti-insurgency operation and killed 22 jawans.
