Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi: With the voting date for the by-election in Marwahi assembly seat nearing and polls to be held on 3 November, the political mercury is soaring in the area. Major ministers and leaders of the government, including the Chief Minister, are camping here, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also does not want to leave any stone unturned to win this seat.
At such a crucial time, the Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (JCCJ) has announced to support the BJP candidate, giving a big blow to the Congress. JCCJ state president Amit Jogi, who was out of the electoral battle over caste, has announced this on social media. JCCJ MLAs Dharamjit Singh, Pramod Sharma and Rajendra Rai have also decided to support BJP candidate Gambhir Singh.
Amit Jogi has written in his post that Legislature Party leader Dharamjit Singh and Secretary Rajendra Rai have informed that they have decided to support BJP candidate Gambhir Singh. Pramod Sharma and other party members have also given their consent in this.

Amit Jogi said that he has not had any direct communication with any BJP leader in this matter. He further said that 'I urge my family of Marwahi to vote for justice against the Congress party that humiliated my father Ajit Jogi'.
Dharamjit Singh met Raman Singh
On Friday, Chhattisgarh Janata Congress (JCCJ) strongman leader and Lormi MLA Dharamjit Singh meeting former CM Raman Singh. Dharamjit Singh termed it as a common courtesy meeting, but amid the current political circumstances of Marwahi, the meeting was considered very important and soon a big announcement is expected to be made.
In this way, the support of JCCJ to the BJP candidate 2 days before the vote can give the BJP's upper hand somewhere in the elections. However, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is claiming victory in this election with a record-setting win.
What happens on the ground, remains to be seen.
