Raipur: Orphaned at the age of two and a half, Rajeshwari Salam who rescued 60 girls from being trafficked has become a role model for many. Deceived into slavery by an acquaintance of her neighbouring village, Salam fought her way out in an alien place and eventually rescued her and the lot.

Rajeshwari who was lauded in the state assembly for her bravery on February 10, spoke exclusively to ETV Bharat and narrated her tale.
Entering the web of deceit:
On way to meet her sister-in-law, Rajeshwari took a bus to Narayanpur. She met a few girls who spoke of a trip to Tirupathi Balaji at a subsidised cost.
Falling for the lie, she eventually landed in the trap and ended up working for a company as a labourer in remote Andhra Pradesh.
