Narayanpur: In a major success, the Narayanpur police of Chhattisgarh arrested as many as five Naxals on Wednesday.
According to the police, they were involved in several crimes including one Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the Sonpur area.
The arrested ultras have been indentified as Sukhram Kumeti, Narsingh Poyam, Siboram Poyam, Gonchuram Poyam and Mangluram Poyam.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Neeraj Chandrakar said that the police have got success in arresting as many as 15 ultras in the last four days.
"These arrested ultras were involved in the IED blast in which a jawan of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) had lost his life. They have accepted their involvement in the crime and we will further present them before the court," he added.
Meanwhile, in another development, the security forces on Wednesday arrested a Naxal jan militia member from Bijapur district, who was allegedly involved in the murder of sub-inspector Murli Tati.
The arrested cadre was identified as Sukhram alias Pandu (22), a resident of Bijapur, the police said.
