Raipur: Surging Coronavirus cases have put the country's health sector under tremendous stress. Doctors and medical staff are overburdened with Covid patients while facing shortages of oxygen cylinders, Remdesivir injections and hospital beds.

Among such frontline doctors in the battle against Covid, Dr Prashant Sahu is treating his 56-year-old mother Sunila Sahu in Lalpur Care Hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Dr Prashant Sahu has acknowledged that treating his mother is a big challenge for him due to emotional ups and downs. Dr Sahu's mother, who lives in a village in Rajnandgaon was referred to Lalpur Care Hospital. He came to know that his mother is admitted to his hospital and therefore put additional responsibility on his shoulders.

Dr Prashant Sahu and his team have treated more than 1500 patients in the first and second wave of Corona. He added that neither he nor his team members have been able to meet their family for the last three weeks and all of them are staying in the hospital and are doing their work with full dedication. For Dr Sahu, Covid patients' recovery and hospital discharge is driving the team of doctors to fight against the Covid-19.
