Dhamtari: As part of the measures adopted to tackle any situation related to the pandemic, Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district administration conducted a mock drill to create awareness among the people but it backfired as people in the district feared thinking the pandemic has engulfed the district.

However, the district administration persuaded the people saying that it was just a mock drill to create awareness and there is no need to fear.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, the mock drill's dummy patient Giriwar Verma said that people did not understand it and took it in another way.

"Seeing the mock drill at Jalampur ward, people thought that the area got affected by the coronavirus. I was the dummy patient but people treated me like an actual patient even after the mock drill," said Verma.

Showing his anguish, he further said, "It was done to create awareness among the people but they are now spreading rumours about me on social media that I am an actual corona patient."

It is to be noted that amid coronavirus-induced lockdown, all kinds of effective precautionary and protective measures are being taken, across the country, in order to combat the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
