Court dismisses petition against Aamir Khan over 'intolerance' remark

The Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking action against Bollywood star Aamir Khan over 'intolerance' remark. Dipak Diwan had filed a complaint before a Magistrate at Raipur against Khan over the actor's alleged statement that intolerance was growing and his wife Kiran Rao had even asked if they should move out of India.

Bilaspur (Chattisgarh): The Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking action against Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist, actor Aamir Khan over 'intolerance' remark.

The single-judge bench headed by High Court Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal announced the verdict.

During the hearing held on Wednesday, Justice Sanjay K Aggarwal's bench dismissed the petition filed against Aamir Khan.

Dipak Diwan had filed a complaint before a Magistrate at Raipur against Khan over the actor's alleged statement that intolerance was growing and his wife Kiran Rao had even asked if they should move out of India.

He sought action against Aamir Khan under section 153 (a) (b) of IPC.

Aamir Khan's lawyer DK Gwalre said that the magistrate has given just a logical verdict because the sections mentioned here comes under the Central and State Governments.
