Koriya: A newly married couple has been quarantined at a Chhattisgarh government facility here as the administration is not ready to take any chance concerning coronavirus, the contagious disease that has killed over two lakh people across the globe.
Sushil Gupta of Manendragarh town in the district was allowed to get married during the on-going lockdown, imposed to curb COVID-19 but as he was returning with his mother and wife they were stopped by the authorities at the border of the town and quarantined for a mandatory period of two weeks at a government facility.
The groom and his family was allowed to go to Nowrozabad in Madhya Pradesh to solemnize the marriage.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat, the family said that they were ready to be isolated at their home as there were lots of work that remain to be done as far as the marriage is concerned.
"We have everything at our home to eat. We won't go out. We even would not mind to be locked from outside if the authorities want," said the groom, seeking permission to go home.
He urged the authorities to look into the issue and allow them to go home.
The groom's father, who had gone to invite relatives for the marriage, is stuck in Uttar Pradesh because of the lockdown.
