Raipur: Politics has heated up over the recent communal clashes in Chhattisgarh's Bemetera district with police booking a youth BJP leader for allegedly spreading misleading news with regard to the incident. A Hindu youth was killed and three cops were injured after violence erupted in Biranpur village of Bemetera district on Apr. 8.

Three days later, a Muslim man and his son were found dead under mysterious circumstances a few kilometeres away from the village. Following the incident, police clamped section 144 in entire Bemetara district as a precautionary measure. While the situation remains under control in the district, a political war of words has erupted in Chhattisgarh following the incident.

Following the incident, Police have booked divisional president of BJYM for making “misleading” statements over the incident. On the other hand, BJP leaders have opposed the registration of the FIR against fellow party leader. Chhattisgarh BJP media co-incharge Anurag Aggarwal has targeted CM Baghel on this issue.

Aggarwal said that CM Baghel is trying to suppress the BJP over the issue. “When Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's father Nand Kumar Baghel makes unrestrained remarks about Shri Ram, he (CM Baghel) does not see hate speech in that,” he said. Aggarwal further said that “Congress Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma separates tribals from Hindus and demands a separate court which also does not account for hate speech for CM Baghel”.

“When BJP workers talk about questioning the atrocities on majority Hindus, it is hate speech,” he said. "We will always fight for the voice of the people," he added. Aggarwal said that after Congress MLA Brihaspati Singh killed a bank official, the Chief Minister said that it is their mutual dispute.
