Chhattisgarh: A foreign couple has adopted a specially-abled child from Sewa Bharati Matrichhaya orphanage in Surguja.
The child named Anisha is visually challenged and had been abandoned by her parents in 2015.
The foreign couple Jeremy and Jessica are residents of Tennessee City in the USA. They wished to adopt an Indian child and take care of it. They especially wished to work for the welfare of at least one specially-abled child.
When they found out about Anisha they submitted an application in the Matrichhaya orphanage for her adoption.
The people at the orphanage also organised a baby shower for the couple. They expressed their joy over Anisha becoming a part of their family.
They already have two children who have now become Anisha's siblings.
An employee working at Matrichhaya said, "All formalities regarding the adoption of Anisha have been completed. Jeremy and Jessica will not only bear her expenses but will also provide a better life to her."
"The couple is highly influenced by Indian culture and traditions, the reason why they have adopted Anisha," he added.
