Raipur: Ravindra Chaubey, the agriculture minister in the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh has claimed that BJP uses the image of Lord Ram to gain votes and justify mob lynchings.
Addressing the media, the Congress leader said that imagery of Ram invoked by the Congress has stark contrast to that of BJP.
"The imagery of Ram invoked by Congress stands for the protagonist of Ramayana. While, BJP's Ram stands for corruption, votes and mob lynching," Chaubey said.
In addition to this, Congress leader spoke about 'Ramlila,' and said Lord Ram is ingrained in the fabric of the nation and BJP does not have the moral right over Ram.
Ahead of the nine days of Dusshera, a dramatic folk play Ramlila will be organised to show the scene of the execution of Ravana by Lord Rama, which is hailed as a victory over evil.
