Bijapur(Chhattisgarh): A bomb disposal team recovered a four kilogram Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
The Naxals had set up the IED near Pusguri, two kilometres from Murkinar, before escaping when they saw the police.
The IED was diffused later by the Police personnel.
From Murkinar, Jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force on ROP duty left for Awapalli. On thier return to Awapalli, the Naxalites near Pusagudi were planning to carry out a big attack on the security forces deployed in the region. After seeing the team, Naxals escaped leaving the 'tiffin bomb' in the bag.
The explosives were placed in a steel container which was buried near the roadside.
The Bijapur's BDS team has seized 4 kgs of IED, 2 kg Tiffin Bomb and 1 pipe bomb from the spot. Also, the bag contained power wires, detonators and batteries, reports said.
