Raipur: There is good news for the people of Chhattisgarh as the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has declared the popular song 'Arpa Pari's Dhar, Mahanadi Hai Apar ...' as the state's anthem.
The Chief Minister has declared the state anthem during an event of Rajyotsava held at Raipur on Sunday.
This song has been written by Chhattisgarh writer and linguist Dr Narendra Dev Varma. Significantly, this famous song is sung in major Chhattisgarhi events.
It has been accorded priority in cultural events and has now been declared a state anthem.
The song was announced on the eve of Dr Narendra Dev's birthday. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who arrived at the function on the third day of the Rajyotsava held at the Science College ground, announced from the stage amidst applause from the crowd. It is necessary to mention here that in the 19 years of state formation, symbols have been identified in various fields, but state anthem had not been selected for Chattisgarh.
