7-year-old girl raped and murdered in Chhattisgarh

After a post mortem, police said the child had been raped and murdered in Chhattisgarh's Baloda Bazar district.

Baloda Bazar: Rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl has been reported in Chhattisgarh state after the child went missing for two days.

The girl's body was found in a well near her home in Baloda Bazar district.

A complaint was filed at a police station about the missing girl and an investigation led police to a well in a house in the neighbourhood in Pausari village.

After a post mortem, police confirmed the girl had been raped and murdered.

Giving details of the incident, ASP Nivedita Paul said that a missing report of a 7-year-old girl from Pausari village was lodged. During the investigation, the body of the girl was found in a well in the village.

The investigation is continuing.
