Kanker (Chhattisgarh): Security forces recovered a 5 kg improvised explosive device (IED), laid by Naxals, from Chhattisgarh's kanker district, police said.
Acting on a specific tip-off, the explosive was unearthed by a team of District Reserve Guards from the Ravas forest.
When security forces were carrying out patrolling in the forests along the Thema village, they spotted the IED, few meters inside the forest, police official said.
The bomb disposal squad immediately destroyed the explosive.
The Maoists plant the IEDs to target security forces during their operations on the route that passes through dense forests.
