3 people of family die in gas cylinder explosion

Three members of a family were killed in the blast of cooking gas cylinder while sleeping at their home. Bodies of mother and her two children were sent for postmortem even as police probe the case.

Raigarh: Three people, including two children, were killed in a cooking gas cylinder blast in Sarangarh town of the district here on Monday, official sources said.

The incident took place at around 07.30 hours when a woman, identified as Lata Sahu, was sleeping with her two children - Tikesh (5) and Jhalap (6) - in their house.

Lata Sahu's husband was not at home when the blast took place. However, his elder brother was present in the building.

The case is being investigated, the police said, adding the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
