UP govt bans burials of dead from Bihar in state limits

The locals of Kaimur's Karmahari village said that they used to go near the "Ganga-ghat" to perform the last rites of dead persons which might not be possible henceforth. The Uttar Pradesh government has deployed forces at the border areas to check corpses from the neighbouring states are not cremated in the state.

Kaimur: After scores of corpses were found floating at the banks of river Ganges along the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has put a ban on the burial of bodies from Bihar at UP's cremation grounds.

As per reports, the Uttar Pradesh government has deployed forces at the border areas to check corpses from the neighbouring states are not cremated in the state.

After this decision by the UP government, the people of Bihar's Kaimur district, which is situated at the UP border, are facing a lot of problems.

The locals of Kaimur's Karmahari village said that they used to go near the "Ganga-ghat" to perform the last rites of dead persons which might not be possible henceforth.

"Tha Ganga-gha oft falls in the territory of Uttar Pradesh. We will face a lot of trouble in disposing of the bodies after this decision by the UP government," said a local.

It is worth mentioning here that people of Ramgarh, Nuwan and Mohania blocks of Kaimur district cross the Barora border to perform the last rites of dead persons in Uttar Pradesh's Jamania village whereas people of Bhabua, Chainpur, Chand, Durgavati cremate the dead bodies in Varanasi.

"Tha Ganga-gha oft falls in the territory of Uttar Pradesh. We will face a lot of trouble in disposing of the bodies after this decision by the UP government," said a local.

It is worth mentioning here that people of Ramgarh, Nuwan and Mohania blocks of Kaimur district cross the Barora border to perform the last rites of dead persons in Uttar Pradesh's Jamania village whereas people of Bhabua, Chainpur, Chand, Durgavati cremate the dead bodies in Varanasi.
