Patna: A teenage girl succumbed to death after she was set ablaze by unidentified miscreants while she was sleeping with her mother at her home in a Bihar village on Monday.
Kishori, 14, was killed on Monday morning when her home in Purnia district's Mahendrapur village was torched by miscreants to attack her, media reports said.
As per information received, the young girl, suffered burn injuries in the attack that occurred around 6 am when the unidentified men threw petrol at her and set her on fire, before fleeing.
The girl who was rushed to a hospital in the district after the incident took place succumbed to her injuries, said the doctor who she was treating her burn injuries.
Following which, angry locals staged demonstration at the village demanding immediate arrest of the accused and justice for the girl.
"The situation was brought under control by the police force and search to nab the accused is underway," said a police official.
