Patna: An eco-friendly 50-bed corona hospital is providing treatment to around 30 Covid patients. The Vistex Hospital, built-in Masarhi village in Patna district of Bihar, is built from grass and straw. In this eco-friendly hospital, patients get more relief from heat than regular hospitals. The rooms of this hospital remain cool in summer and warm on winter days.

Gorakhpur's Shrithi Pandey and her construction company have designed and built this unique and eco-friendly hospital. Shrithi Pandey has a master's degree from New York University in Construction Management. She has also featured in Forbes magazine for her efforts of building low-cost houses using eco-friendly materials of wheat stalks, paddy, and straw. These eco-friendly materials are further converted into agri-fibre boards which are used to build houses that are cost-effective, environment-friendly, and remain cooler during summers, unlike concrete houses.

The Vistex Hospital is run and managed by NGO, Doctors For You. At present, this 50-bed hospital is treating 30 Covid patients. Hospital also offers X-ray and other medical facilities. Project Manager Pramod Kumar of Doctors For You has informed that the hospital has oxygen cylinders and availability of doctors 24 hours. The hospital has also successfully cured around 100 patients of Coronavirus.
