Buxar (Bihar): Chausa, a village in the Buxar district of Bihar, have a monument 'Vijay Stupa' bearing testament to the old Indo-Afghanistan relationship. The 'Vijay Stupa' is also associated with the Mughal-Afghan War, which was fought in this area on 26 June 1539. When Sher Shah Suri defeated the Mughal emperor Humayun and laid the foundation of Afghan rule in India.
The pictures of Sher Shah Suri, Nizam Bhisti, and Humayun, posted here courtesy of the district administration, are making this small village of Buxar proud today.
The local people take pride in their history. Referring to an incident recorded in the pages of Indian history, then the Nizam Bhisti, who saved the life of Mughal ruler Humayun, after regaining the throne of Delhi, Humayun had declared Bhisti as the emperor for a day only.

People who came to see the 'Vijay Stupa' said that Sher Shah Suri's system of governance in India was better. His opinion towards India was very good. He built the GT Road from Delhi to Peshawar. The postal system was introduced in the country. He also introduced the rupee as the monetary system which still continues.
Whether it is the matter of the Grand Trunk (GT) road from Chittagong to Peshawar, or it is the postal system, the construction of roadside inns and wells or the land measurement which was later adopted by the Mughal emperor Akbar.

Sources in the Bihar Tourism Department said that from 2018 to 2020, Seventy Afghan tourists visited the tomb of Sher Shah Suri at Sasaram, including the victory monument at Chausa. Yes, it is a matter of regret that it was not developed in the way it should have been developed by the Bihar Tourism Department, said official.
But it is also a matter of satisfaction that during the month of March 2021, it has been included in the list of heritage sites by the Bihar Tourism Department. Now ont the instructions of Buxar District Magistrate Aman Sameer, the work of beautification is going on on a war footing.
