Siwan: Two inmates entered into a scuffle over old enmity in the Siwan district jail on Monday in which one of them got seriously injured.
The injured inmate was identified as one Suraj Sharma, 35, resident of Chotka Manjha village under Mairwa police post. He was lodged in the jail 18 days back for thrashing someone over a land dispute.
On Monday morning, Dhananjay Kumar, a murder accused, hit Suraj on his head from behind while he was cooking.
Suraj got seriously injured in the incident and was taken to Sadar hospital. His relatives accused the jail authorities for getting Suraj thrashed. However, police are denying the allegation.
