Sachidanand Rai donates salary to help Bihar Govt fight coronavirus

To help Bihar Government fight coronavirus, MLC from Bihar Sachidanand Rai has donated his whole salary for the rest of his term, which is to end in July 2021. He said he did by writing an email to the state government.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and party MLC from Bihar Sachidanand Rai has donated his salary for the rest of his term, which would end in July next, to Bihar Government to help it deal with coronavirus crisis.

In video message, Rai said that since the whole world is in the grip of the pandemic, governments need help to fight against it.

"In this hour of need, donated my salary for the rest of my term," he said in the message.

Bihar has total number of coronavirus cases 51. Among the fresh cases, 10 were reported from Siwan district and two from Begusarai.

According to the Union Health Ministry, there are 5,734 coronavirus cases in the country. While the number of active COVID-19 cases is 5,095, as many as 472 people were cured and discharged and one had migrated, and 166 have lost their lives.
