Patna: The Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) has observed "Black Day" on Sunday against the order of the Bihar government over the prohibition of media personnel from the quarantine centre.
Former union minister and RLSP's president, Upendra Kushwaha tied a black bandage on his face and sat on a dharna at his residence in Bihar.
Speaking to media persons, Kushwaha said,"Due to the state government, people are not getting relief from coronavirus. The government led by Nitish Kumar has failed to fight against the pandemic. On one hand, people are upset about this situation and on the other hand, the state government is worried that the truth of misconduct does not come out, so the media is being banned.
The condition of the quarantine centres are so bad and the state government has taken a bizarre decision by banning media persons who exposed the truth of this plight."
"We are demanding that those workers who want to return to Bihar should be brought and those who want to stay outside of the state voluntarily, the government should put money in their account. According to government figures, this expenditure is at least Rs.10000 on each person. The Bihar government has given 1000 rupees to the trapped labourers in other states. The second installment of one thousand rupees should be given to them," Kushwaha said.
"It is against democracy to stop the media from going to the quarantine centre. The Bihar government should abandon their ego and accept the demand of the people or else the movement of our people will continue. We cannot see the public in trouble," he added.
