Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's rift with the BJP over cabinet berths has been interpreted as an opportunity by Rashtriya Janata Dal.
The party, which failed to open an account in the state in the recent Lok Sabha elections, has sent a tentative invitation to Mr Kumar to return to the Mahagathbandhan - the Grand Alliance.
Amid speculations of the rift, BJP and JDU didn't attend each other's iftar party whereas Nitish Kumar attended the iftar party hosted by Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh tweeted taking a jibe at Nitish Kumar's iftar party. Although, Singh was reprimanded by Home Minister Amit Shah for this.
RJD's vice-president Shivanand Tiwari said that we are ready to support Nitish Kumar if he parts ways with BJP on issues like Article 370.
Former Chief Minister, Rabri Devi also said that she doesn't have any issue if Nitish Kumar decides to join Mahagathbandhan again.
Amid RJD's invitations, senior BJP leader, Suresh Kumar Sharma said that RJD has lost its ground and giving invitations to JDU.
"BJP-JDU alliance is unbreakable. We are together in Bihar. Nitish Kumar will be the chief minister and we will work together for the development of Bihar, added Sharma.
