Patna: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday during his visit to Bihar questioned Congress over its silence on Pakistan's confession regarding the Pulwama attack. Addressing the election meeting in Pirpainti, Motihari and Vaishali region of Bihar, Rajnath Singh said 'some people' also oppose the steps taken for the security of the country.

'We do what we say'

Referring to the Pulwama attack, Rajnath said, "When the attack was mentioned by Pakistan, the Congress was protesting, now when Pakistan has accepted in the assembly, the Congress has kept silence."

Further taking a dig at Congress' long rule, he said, "If the leaders had partially fulfilled the promises made after independence, the fate of the country would have changed."

Referring to the central government's moves such as the Abolition of Section 370 from Kashmir, finding a way to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya, amendment in the citizenship law, Rajnath said "we do what we say."

He also added that the subsidy of farmers and beneficiaries is reaching people directly in their bank accounts now.

'Nitish's passion undoubted'

Praising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he said, "till date, there is no stain of corruption on Nitish ji. Nitish has not done 'fodder eating' like others in Bihar. Nitish ji has done the work of sending ration to the house of the poor."

He further joked in Bhojpuri, saying the lantern is broken and the oil is wasted. Now the people should use the arrow and help lotus bloom in the state, hinting at the party symbols.

In February 2019, there was a terrorist attack on a convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir in which 40 CRPF men were martyred.
