New Delhi: The newly elected BJP MP Giriraj Singh has claimed that politics based on caste, dynasty has been dismantled in the country and politics of development gave hope to the people, thus, helping BJP gain a massive mandate.
Giriraj won more than 4 lakh votes, against Kanhaiya Kumar and RJD's Tanvir Hassan in Begusarai. He bagged more than 50% of votes from Begusarai.
Speaking to ETV Bharat about the victory, he said that NDA will ensure development in the area and thanked all the voters who helped BJP achieve such a record total.
"We promoted the development agenda. The poor in this country developed faith in Modi. BJP's win is a testament of that faith," he said.
"All other equations failed. Including the much talked about caste politics. Only equation which prevailed was that of development," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday led his Bharatiya Janata Party to a super-sized victory for a second term in office, as his message of nationalism, security, Hindu pride and a New India was wholeheartedly embraced by voters across the country.
