Patna: A doctor in Bihar's Patna has accused private hospitals in the city of not providing proper treatment to his ailing wife.
The deceased has been identified as Barkha Singh (44), wife of Dr Ranjeet Singh. Singh, works in the Ophthalmology department in Patna Medical College and Hospital.
In his complaint, Dr Singh alleged that the death occurred due to medical negligence and the hospital did not have a good ICU facility.
According to the complaint of Dr Singh, his wife was ill on Thursday morning after which she was admitted to Kurji Hospital in Patna.
"After my wife's health condition was stated to be good, the doctors there advised me to shift her to another hospital where her cardiac treatment will be better. After this, I took her to Pataliputra Hospital where a coronavirus test was done and she was reported negative," Dr Singh said.
"After admitting her there, my wife's health condition started deteriorating. Following this, doctors asked to admit her in the ICU. However, after pneumonia was found in the in CT scan, the doctors refused to admit her in the ICU and advised to go to another hospital," Dr Singh said.
"While several private hospitals refused to admit my wife, I rushed her to AIIMS in Patna where doctors pronounced her brought dead," he added.
Singh has blamed two big private hospitals in the city where her wife was refused to be admitted. He has also demanded action on both private hospitals from the Indian Medical Association.
