Gaya: Challenging police and security forces, maoists have damaged a government school building in Bihar's Gaya district using improvised explosive device (IED), a senior police officer said on Saturday. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajiv Mishra said rooms and genset of the school building were damaged inthe blast at Sondaha village on Friday night.
The SSP said security forces were rushed to the spot after getting the information.
A special drive has been launched jointly by the police and para-military forces to nab the Maoists, Mishra added.
As per reports, the maoists have been targeting establishments that are being set up for the CRPF and police forces to stay during the election process.
It is worth mentioning that 14 primary schools have been listed for election duties in this area for the upcoming election.
