Bihar's longest elevated road opens in Patna

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to inaugurate a 12.5 km-long elevated road in Patna on Monday. The six-lane road will connect Digha JP Setu with AIIMS Patna.

Patna: People of Bihar will get the longest elevated road of 12.5 km in Patna on Monday.

The six-lane elevated road will connect Digha JP Setu with AIIMS Patna. An official said that it will give direct access from North Bihar to South Bihar without facing traffic congestion at Patna.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate this flyover on Monday evening. Earlier, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, managing director of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Ltd, inspected the flyover on Sunday evening and directed officials to complete the finishing work.

"The flyover will help to ease traffic congestion Patna. It will give direct access to go from North Bihar to South Bihar and vice versa. The elevated road is connected to JP Setu at Digha to AIIMS Patna located on bypass road connecting NH 30 and 31," Agrawal said.

With this, a commuter coming from Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Chapra, Siwan via Hajipur and using JP Setu on Ganga river will directly reach the other side of Patna to go towards Arrah, Sasaram, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Gaya, Jahanabad, Nalanda and other districts and further on to Jharkhand.
