New Delhi: Bihar LJP Executive Chairman Raju Tiwari has said that Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM has a hand in the recent Purnia incident. The local MLAs belong to Owaisi's AIMIM party where the incident has happened. The incident is the result of Owaisi's Hyderabadi culture.
The LJP leader further said that Dalits have been tortured in Purnia. We, therefore, demand strict action from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar against the culprits. He added that the people of Bihar will answer to those who belong to Owaisi's culture. The Bihar leader added that strict action should be taken against whoever is involved in this incident. "I will go there myself and meet the aggrieved family. The LJP stands firmly with those Dalits. We will fight with full force to bring them justice," he said.

Earlier, a crowd of hundreds attacked the Mahadalit neighbourhood of Majhuwa village of Biasi in Purnia. Their houses were set on fire. A man was also beaten to death while several women were harassed. Since the incident, the entire village is living in fear.

The police are investigating the case and have arrested 5 people so far. It is being said that the whole matter is related to the land dispute. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has alleged that the incident has been carried out by a crowd of armed Muslims.
