LJP likely to quit Bihar NDA, Chirag might himself contest in state polls

Accoridng to sources, LJP is set to quit the Bihar NDA, and go solo in the upcoming Bihar polls and contest on 143 seats. LJP president Chirag Paswan, also a Lok Sabha MP, is also expected to contest in the state polls.

Patna (Bihar): All is definitely not well within the Bihar NDA, as the Lok Janshakti Party is aiming to contest on 143 seats in the state on its own, sources said.

According to sources, the LJP will most likely quit the Bihar NDA, and fight alone on 143 seats in the upcoming state Assembly elections. The party is expected to field candidates against JD(U) on all 143 seats, sources said.

However, the party might still continue to remain in the NDA at the national level, with Ram Vilas Paswan continuing to hold his Union Minister post.

Sources today revealed that LJP National President Chirag Paswan, who is also a Lok Sabha MP, might himself contest in the state elections. Chirag wants to concentrate on Bihar politics and not remain stuck at the national level politics, sources said, adding that he is even eying the Chief Minister's post.

According to reports, LJP leaders have also started making statements that Chirag is fit for the Chief Minister's role.

According to sources, Chirag wanted to stay with the Bihar NDA and wanted his 'Bihar First Bihari First' vision document included in the ruling dispensation's manifesto for the polls.

However, the LJP nad JD(U) had differences of opinion regarding the nominations to the Municipal Council, where Chirag wanted two of his party members to get a seat.
