New Delhi: After the Bihar government formulated a policy to review the performance of employees aged above 50 in order to give them a compulsory retirement, RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha slammed the government and said its a high time for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to resign from his post.

The Bihar government on Wednesday said that committees would be formed under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary to review the working ability of the state employees.

If age would be the criteria, then Bihar govt should resign: RJD

" I am not able to understand the reason behind this step. A candidate has to face many hurdles while securing a job. Usually, they attain an age of 40 years till they get a job", added Jha.

Apart from this, in the committee headed by the Secretary, Joint Secretary and Under Secretary have been included.

According to reports, the government has set this policy for government employees above 50 years. The integrity and ethics of these workers will also be reviewed. If any deficiency is found in it, compulsory retirement will be given.

The General Administration Department, regarding the policy made to review the activities of government servants, informed that the activities of the employees of groups A, B, C and all unclassified employees above 50 years will be reviewed. A committee has also been formed for review in every department. The committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary for Group 'A' personnel will do this work.

In the case of group 'B' and 'C', the chairman of the committee will be the secretary. The committee will undertake a review twice every year. The committee will review the activities of employees at certain points. If someone's integrity is doubtful, compulsory retirement will be recommended without considering other points. The second measure of the review will be efficiency or ethics, the state government said.
