Patna: A coronavirus suspect from Nalanda district of Bihar died on Wednesday after Nalanda Medical College and Hospital kept him waiting for three long hours despite his serious health condition, a source said.
The family of the patient blamed hospital authorities for his untimely death. According to the reports, as the patient's health condition worsened he was taken to hospitals in Patna. However, many hospitals denied his admission citing awaiting COVID-19 test as a reason.
On suspicion of coronavirus, the family rushed into Bihar's COVID-19 designated Nalanda Medical College and Hospital. Sources said, the patient had to wait for three long hours for the admission formalities, meanwhile, his condition deteriorated and he died outside the hospital entrance.

This comes at a time when Bihar's coronavirus death toll on Thursday mounted to 217. The active coronavirus cases in the state have risen to 10,506 and the total coronavirus cases across the nation have breached the 12 lakh mark. Various other incidents of negligence have also been highlighted in the past.
While the family grieved over the demise, no case has been registered so far.
