Patna: The scorching heat wave conditions, which have been prevalent across the state, have claimed the lives of 95 and reports indicate that the number has been on the rise.
According to reports, the death toll in Gaya, Nawada and Bhagalpur districts has been increasing since Saturday.
The worst-hit district is Aurangabad, where 50 people have died so far.
Nearly 30 deaths have been reported from Gaya district and 12 people died in Nawada. In Bhagalpur and Motihari, two people died due to heat stroke.
There is a sudden increase in the death toll in Aurangabad and as many as 30-40 people are undergoing treatment in Sadar hospital.

In Motihari, an elderly man fell unconscious while he was working in fields. He died on his way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Patna broke the record of the last three years.
On Friday, the city recorded a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius and Aurangabad 45 degree Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, the severe heatwave condition in the state would continue for a few more days.
