Patna: The Union Cabinet Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has tweeted a need for investigation in the recent case of bodies found in Buxar. He also tagged Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath in his tweet.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat wrote in the tweet, "The incident of finding dead bodies in the Ganges in Buxar region of Bihar is unfortunate. It is a matter of investigation. The Modi government is committed to the cleanliness of the River Ganga. The concerned states should take immediate cognizance in this regard."
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also tweeted in the Buxar case.

He wrote, "The scenes of dead bodies floating in the Ganges and Yamuna are frightening. It is painful to see that the dead bodies could not be given to loved ones for the last rites. Is this our great nation? Any respect for the living or dead in the government. No. Our plea is falling on deaf ears."

On Monday, ETV Bharat had published the news of more than 50 bodies scattered on Mahadeva Ghat in Chausa block. After reaching the spot, the BDO of Chausa had confirmed the news and said that these bodies have come here from Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Buxar administration has taken some action in the case. On the instructions of DM Aman Sameer, a large net has been installed to stop the dead bodies floating further down the river and enter Bihar.

Rashtriya Janata Dal state spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari demanded an inquiry in this regard. While Senior JDU leader Dr Sunil Singh said that a thorough investigation is required in this case. Jan Adhikar Party chief Pappu Yadav has also demanded an inquiry. LJP spokesperson Chandan Singh, while targeting the Bihar Health Department, demanded an inquiry. The Indian National Congress has also demanded an inquiry in the matter.
