New Delhi: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls, it seems a rift has been escalated in the grand alliance (Mahagathbandhan) regarding the seat-sharing and finalisation of the Chief Minister's candidate.
Bihar’s main opposition party – Rashtriya Janata Dal- has been portraying party leader Tejaswi Yadav as the Chief Minister candidate for the upcoming elections whereas, Hindustan Awam Morcha (secular) president and former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has claimed himself for the CM candidate.

According to the sources, Manjhi on Tuesday met senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel in New Delhi and urged him to form a coordination committee to choose CM candidate. The sources have also claimed that Manji demanded Patel to offer 50 seats to his party and gave an ultimatum of June 26. He not only warned the veteran Congress leader to walk out of the alliance but also to take other allies with him.
However, Patel has assured Manjhi to fulfil his demands by tomorrow.
It is expected that the grand alliance will hold a virtual meet tomorrow at 4 pm in which all the parties associated with the grand alliance will discuss their demands.
It is worth to note that the Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for October-November of this year.
