New Delhi: Bihar Congress in charge, Shakti Singh Gohil on Sunday lashed out at the state government for not taking initiative to bring back migrant workers from Gujarat.

He accused Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Kumar Modi of not paying any attention to the hardships that migrants from Bihar are being pressed under. "After the union government allowed inter-state movement, every state has been putting in all the efforts to bring back their migrant workers, even special trains are being run so as to facilitate the movement of workers from one state to another amid lockdown," Gohil added.

He also requested Sushil Kumar Modi to provide every possible help to migrants and follow the suit of Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren who prepared a plan to ensure a safe return of the labourers and students stranded outside.

The Congress in-charge also said, "Please don't delay anymore, kindly bring back our stranded labourers from Gujarat without causing them any financial pain. I would also ask the Bihar government to take care of all the precautionary measures that the central government has put forward. The migrants should be tested for coronavirus at three levels, first at the entry point, second into their district and then they should be kept in home quarantine for some days."

"Sources say that Nitish Kumar has asked Gujarat state officials to keep back the migrants unless Bihar passes an order to send them back home," Bihar Congress in charge elaborated.
