Gaya (Bihar): Mild tensions prevailed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Gaya district of Bihar on Tuesday, as the venue swelled with large crowds resulting in chaos.
The rally witnessed a steady stream of people, who reportedly thronged in groups, and the organisers were left clueless owing to the unexpected crowd.
As their numbers grew, the crowd became uncontrollable and even began hurling chairs at each other, while some tried to shield their heads in the melee.
Police had to intervene and take control of the situation, diffusing the tensions between the angry mobs.
Modi was scheduled to address a rally in Gaya, along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi among others.
He will be addressing two public meetings in Bihar, one of which is this particular event in Gaya district, before the first phase of Lok Sabha election on April 11.
With a total of 40 Lok Sabha seats, Bihar is considered politically important for the NDA, for its return to power.
