New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal MP and daughter of former chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Misa Bharti on Monday appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court in connection with the land-for-job scam case.
During the hearing, the CBI sought time from the court to file supplementary charge sheet. The court has directed CBI to expedite investigations and the next hearing of the case has been listed on June 1.
Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa Bharti are accused in the land-for-job scam case. All three had appeared before the court at the previous hearing on March 29. Earlier, on March 15 the court granted bail to them on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each.
Notably, Lalu Prasad's family is under the scanner of CBI and ED in connection with the case. Seven members of the family have been accused so far and have been interrogated several rounds. ED has also raided many locations.
On March 6, the CBI team interrogated Rabri Devi at Lalu Prasad's Patna residence. After which, ED raided the houses of Lalu Prasad's family members and relatives on March 10. A total of 24 locations were raided by the ED in the land-for-job scam case. During which, the agency recovered Rs one crore in cash, gold jewellery weighing over 1.5 kilos, 540 grams of gold, US dollar and several other things.

The land-for-job scam case took place between 2004 to 2009 when Lalu Prasad was the Railway Minister in the UPA-I government. It was alleged that appointments were made in the Railways for land parcels gifted to Lalu Prasad and his family members. Last month, deputy chief minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav had appeared before the ED for questioning in this case.
