New Delhi: Reiterating his demand that Bihar was tired of Nitish Kumar and need a chief minister from the BJP, former union minister and BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan on Thursday said that it was high time for the saffron party to declare its own candidate for the post.
"It's not that we don't need political alliances. Even if we have a complete majority at the centre, we still have our partners with us," he said while talking to ETV Bharat here.
"BJP in Bihar is far stronger than in other parts of the country and that's why I say that it should have its own candidate for the post of the chief minister," Paswan said.
Elaborating on who could be made the candidate for the post, the former minister said it could be either be Sushil Kumar Modi or any other leader from Bihar in the central government.
The BJP leader, suggesting that the party could possibly appoint someone from the backward class as the people were tired of leaders from high castes, said "even high caste people want someone from Dalits.
