Saran (Bihar): Sunil Kumar, a havildar of the 16th battalion of Bihar Regiment was among the Army personnel who were martyred during a face-off between India and China in the Galwan valley in Eastern Ladakh on Monday night.
Sunil Kumar was a native of Dhibra village under the Parsa police station limits in Saran district. He is survived by his wife and a three-year-old daughter.
The family members of the slain soldier were shocked on hearing the news of their son's death and at the same time were proud of their son who sacrificed his life for the nation.
The Indian and Chinese armies are engaged in a standoff in Pangong Tso, Galwan Valley, Demchok and Daulat Beg Oldie in eastern Ladakh. A sizable number of Chinese Army personnel had even transgressed into the Indian side of the de-facto border in several areas, including Pangong Tso.

The Indian Army has been fiercely objecting to the transgressions and demanded their immediate withdrawal for the restoration of peace and tranquillity in the area.
Twenty Indian Army personnel including a colonel were killed in the clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Monday night, the biggest military confrontation in over five decades that has significantly escalated the already volatile border standoff in the region.
