Lifeless bodies of two students were rescued after accidentally slipped into the deep water in Ganga river.

Bhagalpur (Bihar): Two students were drowned in Ganga river in Bihar's Bhagalpur district on Sunday afternoon.

The identity of all the students is yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, the incident occurred at around 2 PM, when the five students had gone to the river to take bath. But one accidentally slipped into the deep water and went missing.

The four boys who in a bid to rescue their friend also went deep into the water and swept away by strong currents.

On being informed by the nearby villagers, the fire personnel and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) immediately reached to the spot and launched rescue operation.

As per latest reports, the SDRF has recovered two dead bodies from the deep water.

On the other hand, the local police have sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case of unnatural death into the incident, sources added.
