Bihar: Ramkripal talks to Deputy CM about farmers' problem during lockdown

BJP MP from Pataliputra in Bihar, Ramkripal Yadav raised issues facing by farmers in the state after the government directed to send around 700 harvesters' drivers back.

Bihar: Former Union Minister and BJP MP from Pataliputra in Bihar, Ramkripal Yadav on Sunday raised issues faced by the farmers here due to COVID-19 lockdown.

He said that earlier government has issued more than 700 passes to harvesters' drivers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh for the wheat harvest season. On the request of farmers, the government had issued these passes but now the government has directed to send all these harvesters' drivers back after keeping them in quarantine for 14 days.

Ramkripal said that the farmers are now in trouble as they spent lakhs of money to bring the drivers here and the government is now saying that it will send them back.

Ramkripal further added that he has received many messages on mobile from farmers of Pataliputra parliamentary constituency and other areas of Bihar requesting the government to take the decision back.

He said, "I have informed Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi and Agriculture Minister Dr Prem Kumar about the problems being faced by farmers."
