Bihar polls: RLSP, BSP, JP(S) yet to reach seat-sharing formula

Voting in Bihar assembly elections will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7, followed by counting of votes on November 10.

Bihar: A newly formed political alliance in Bihar of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Janwadi Party (Socialist) is yet to strike a seat-sharing formula.

Other political alliances - National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Grand Alliance and Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA) - have either reached a certain seat-sharing formula or they are in the final stages of announcing their arrangements for the polls later this month.

BSP leaders have told the ETV Bharat that party chief Mayawati is in talks with RLSP president Upendra Kushwaha and the seat-sharing arrangement would be announced soon.

The BSP chief had earlier announced that she would contest all 243 assembly seats alone and would not get into any alliance for the upcoming elections.

Voting for Bihar assembly elections will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7, followed by counting of votes on November 10. The notification for the first phase of Bihar assembly elections was issued on October 1, while the last date of nominations is October 8, Withdrawal of candidature for this phase of polls can be done till October 12.

For the second phase, notification would be issued on October 9, nominations can be filed till October 16 and candidature can be withdrawn till October 19.

The third-phase notification would be issued on October 13, the last date of nominations would be October 20 and the last date for candidature withdrawal has been fixed October 23.
