Bihar is not facing any medical crisis owing to shortage of oxygen: JD(U)

New Delhi: The number of Covid-19 cases is rising rapidly and oxygen shortage continues to cripple treatment of infected patients in Bihar.

Meanwhile, Bihar, JD(U) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu on Monday said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Health Minister Mangal Pandey are concerned about the health of every person of the state and has adopted every method to fight the pandemic.

In a video message, Pinto said, "With Covid-19 cases increasing day by day, the Bihar government has already asked the officials to ensure that vacant medical posts are immediately filled and the government will run a free vaccination drive against coronavirus for people above 18 years of age."

Hitting out at the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for doing politics over the COVID-19 situation in Bihar, Pintu also said that the state is not facing any crisis owing to the shortage of oxygen, ventilators, and medicines.

"Tejashvi Yadav does not know anything about the public. He only knows to celebrate his birthday just by sitting in a chartered plane. The recovery rate in the state is better than the national average and the Central government is extending all possible help to Bihar in its fight against the pandemic. In such a gloomy situation, all the political parties in the state must come together and strive hard to win the fight against coronavirus," he added.

Bihar continues to log a high number of Covid-19 infections with 12,795 cases, including 1,848 in Patna and 1,340 in Gaya, as reported on Sunday, taking the number of active cases to more than 87,000.
