Patna: Three Covid-19 patients died at Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) on Sunday after the oxygen supply system at the hospital failed.
The hospital appealed to the district administration to arrange oxygen for the hospital as it houses a dozen patients who at the risk after the oxygen tanks running dry.
Doctors working at the hospital reportedly asked bystanders to make alternate arrangements to continue treatment of the in-patients.
With the rising number of active cases in the state, ICU beds in premier hospitals have been full. Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna also raised the flag over the scarcity of oxygen shortage on Sunday.
The Superintendent of NMCH has also written a letter to the Patna District magistrate to supply life-saving oxygen to the hospital.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed officials to complete the process of appointment to vacant posts of doctors and para-medical staff.
