Patna (Bihar): Nomination for the first phase of Bihar assembly elections will begin today. For this, all the preparations have been completed by the administration. It may be noted that the nomination for the first phase will be from October 1 to 8.
First stage: 71 seats

Voting will be held in 3 phases
The election will be held in three phases. The first phase of voting will take place on October 28, in which 16 districts which come under 71 assembly constituencies will go for voting.
During this phase, voters will cast votes at 31 thousand polling booths.
The second phase of voting will take place on November 3. People will exercise their franchise at 42 thousand polling booths to be constructed in 17 districts of 94 assembly constituencies.
Similarly, votes will be cast on November 7 under the third phase. There will be 78 assembly constituencies which will go for voting and there will be about 33.5 thousand polling booths in 15 districts.
First Phase Voting to commence on 28 October
The voting for the first phase will be held on October 28 in 71 seats of Buxar, Kaimur, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Arwal, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Jamui and Banka.
Constituencies to undergo voting in the first phase
Kahalgaon, Sultanganj, Amarpur, Dhauraiya, Banka, Katoria, Belhar, Tarapur, Munger, Jamalpur, Suryagada, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Barbigha, Mokma, Flood, Drafdhi, Paliganj, Bikram, Sandesh, Barhra, Ara, Agiaon, Tarari, Jagdishpur, Shahpur, Brahmapur, Buxar, Dumraon, Rajpur, Ramgarh, Mohanian, Bhabhua, Chainpur, Chenari, Sasaram, Kargahar, Dinara, Nokha, Dihri, Karakat, Arwal, Kurtha, Jehanabad, Ghosi, Makhdumpur, Goh, Obra, Navigar, Kutumba, Polling will be held in Aurangabad, Rafiganj, Gurua, Sherghati, Imamganj, Barachatti, Bodh Gaya, Gaya Town, Tikari, Belaganj, Attari, Wazirganj, Rajauli Hisua, Nawada, Gobindpur, Warsaliganj, Sikandra, Jamui, Jhajha and Chakai seats.
The gazette notification for the first phase will be issued on October 1. The last date of filing nominations is October 8 which will be scrutinised a day later, on October 9. The last date to withdraw candidature is October 12.
In view of Covid-19 pandemic, the election commission has first time given the option of online filing of nomination papers to the candidates.
This can be done through portals of Chief Electoral Officer or their respective District Election Officers.
