Darbhanga: As the rivers in north Bihar continue to be in spate following heavy rainfall, the threat of flood looms large on various districts of the state.
The low-lying areas including Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Darumbhaga and Sitamarhi are vulnerable to floods, while several rivers in north Bihar continue to flow above their corresponding danger levels since the past few days.
River Bagmati has crossed the highest flood level at Belsand in Sheohar district, creating havoc in many areas of Darbhanga while river Kosi is likely to cross the danger level in Khagaria district.
Similarly, villages near the Kamala river in Bihar's Darbhanga district have got submerged due to the ongoing monsoon rains resulting in flood, which forced many families to take shelter elsewhere.
The Kosi river has also been flowing above the danger level along with Mahananda and Gandak rivers and people have been forced to go into vigilant mode given the already existing flood situation in the state.
